Advanced critique welcome
Same spot that "Judges are dumb and blind" [link] in an abandoned factory, Lille, France.
Awesome shot! I love it! I'd offer advanced critique but, that's an area I'm not all so confident it. I jus' love the composition and order to this shot
For critique, maybe you could watch Judges Are Dumb And Blind [link] which was taken at the same spot, with the same light, but focused on three holes, and tell which one do you prefer, and why.
In first time, I posted only Judges... because it was more detailed, but when I looked back at this one, Last Wall..., I realize the number of holes and the linear composition was also really great.
En fait, je pense que c'est une des règles de base de l'UrbEx, que de redécouvrir des lieux, des endroits, des détails sinon banals. Comme si la beauté était partout, mais qu'elle ne se révélait que sous un angle donné
I prefer 'Judges Are Dumb And Blind'. this one, 'Last wall, dead wall' is good, but more an industrial photo, more documentarian. whereas 'Judges Are Dumb And Blind' is more like an abstract painting. also, I like the subtle color changes in 'Judges Are Dumb And Blind'
Thanks for sharing your point of view. I often ask people who faved one but not the other why, what make difference for them. I totally agree with the fact that on this one, the color changes and the texture are more interesting. But I still find Last wall dead wall gives another dimension, a larger view. Probably the two shots are interesting but for totally different reasons.
I like this shot over "Judges are dumb and blind" for a few reasons. Firstoff, it adds more perspective in my opinion, and has wonderful aesthetic appeal (I especially like the large bent rail at the top and rusted device near the bottom). Also, It just seems more complete, because I could see those few specific holes as a number of things in "Judges" and now seeing the wall full of these adds extra interest and mystery. I don't know if you get what I'm saying, I don't really know how to explain..
